Release For Immediate Release Absolutely Sinatra On
Friday May 4, 2007 at 8:00 PM at The Roy Thomson Hall, members of The
Toronto Symphony Orchestra featuring guest entertainer Rick Sonata, under the
baton of John Edward Liddle, present a musical tribute to Frank Sinatra
entitled Absolutely Sinatra. Rick Sonata and the TSO plan to pay musical homage
to the Sinatra collection. From "Luck Be a Lady Tonight" to "My Way" the
unmistakable sounds of Sinatra will be on display. Rick Sonata, a native of Toronto, not only bears an uncanny physical resemblance to Frank Sinatra, but also a vocal likeness of Sinatra beyond compare. Sonata has opened for Tony Bennett and Wayne Newton and has performed with the Tommy Dorsey Band and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra. He has criss-crossed the globe with appearances in Europe, Australia, the MGM Grand in Las Vegas and as close as Buffalo, NY, appearing with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra at Kleinhans Music Hall, and has performed in Niagara Falls, Canada. Rick Sonata has brought down the house with his Sinatra tribute show. Maestro John Edward Liddle pursues a colorful career as a trumpet soloist, teacher, clinician and conductor with many bands and orchestras, bringing to the conductor's podium a wealth of experience and a high standard of musicianship. He is a dynamic and versatile performer. The marriage of these musical forces coming together for "Absolutely Sinatra" is the brainchild of businessman Charles Speier. Charles and his brother, Cary Speier, are co-owners of Speier Displays and Party Rentals which was founded by their father Siggy Speier more than 50 years ago. Speier Displays and Party Rentals is located in Buffalo, NY. Charles, in his usual entrepreneurial spirit has stepped forward to produce this musical tribute to Sinatra. Charles was quoted as saying, "It has been a labor of love to re-energize the music of Frank Sinatra for Toronto with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Rick Sonata." Tickets
for Absolutely Sinatra are available by calling (416) 872-4255 or by visiting
