ABBA-Mania

"ABBA-Mania" recreates the music and feelings of one of
the greatest pop music groups of all time! The fabulous vocal match and
authentic look of Anni-Frid Lyngstad (Monica Tietz), Benny Andersson (Ewan
Fernie), Björn Ulvaeus (Nick Pattison), and Agnetha Fältskog
(Michelle Truman) allow you to re-live thos great memories of the 70's and
80's. Recapture the sounds of ABBA and take a trip down memory lane with some
of their biggest hits: "Mamma Mia", "Dancing Queen", "Waterloo" and
"Fernando"!
The four ABBA characters are backed by a live band (guitar,
bass & drums), 2 backup singers, 1 electric violinist and full symphony
orchestra! Complete with authentic costumes and concert lighting, this 10-piece
show performs 20 or more of ABBA's hits.
"ABBA-Mania" has been scored
and arranged for full symphony orchestra and performs with arranger and
conductor Ross Daly. The symphony show can also
double-bill with the Bee Gees tribute "Night Fever"
or other featured tribute guests such as Tina
Turner and/or Rod Stewart "Forever Young" (see
poster below), Neil Diamond "Solitary Man",
etc.

Michelle Truman: "Agnetha
Fältskog"
Michelle is from Milton, Ontario
and grew up in the film and television industry. This naturally led her to the
music theatre world where she has performed in shows such as "The Rocky Horror
Show", "Footloose", "Anne of Green Gables", "British Invasion" and "The Little
Shop of Horrors" to mention a few. She spent several years in Europe recording
and performing with an all-girl group called "Envy". Michelle's high, strong
vocals earned her the role of Agnetha in ABBA-Mania!
Monica Tietz: "Anni-Frid
Lyngstad"
Monica has been a professional
singer for more than 15 years and hails from Penetanguishene, Ontario. She is
also an excellent drummer having performed on drums and vocals with the band
"Bounty". Monica was also the lead in the tribute to Alanis Morissette in a
production called "Jagged Little Pill", and in the theatre show "The Spice
Girls". She also has extensive experience doing session recordings for various
artists, radio commercials, etc.
With her strong vocals, Monica
has played the role of Anni-Frid in ABBA-Mania for the past 11 years.
Ewan Fernie: "Benny
Andersson"
Ewan studied classical music on
the piano at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto for several years and is based
in Mississauga, Ontario. He has been a professional pianist and keyboard player
for over 30 years performing in musical tribute productions to Rod Stewart, the
Bee Gees, Neil Diamond, Elton John and Pink Floyd. Ewan owns his recording
studio and produces countless session recordings for various artists,
commercials, etc.
Ewan has been an integral member
of ABBA-Mania since its inception in 2001.
Nick Pattison:
"Björn Ulvaeus"
Nick was born in Bridge, England
and moved to Canada as a young child. At the age of 10, Nick won the American
Guild of Music Award for his guitar playing. He graduated from Queens
University with an arts degree. Over the past 20 years, Nick has performed in
countless bands and ensembles ranging in styles from rock, funk, country, blues
and jazz. He also writes, plays, and sings his own original music and has had
radio airplay in Canada. He currently resides in Newcastle, Ontario, where he
teaches guitar.
Nick's outstanding musicianship
on guitar and vocals can be heard in his role as Björn in ABBA-Mania as he
has done over the past 10 years.

about 5 of their concerts since we first discovered them at the Orillia Opera
House a few years back. We have since seen them at the King's Wharf Theatre in
Penetanguishene (twice), Newmarket Theatres and Roy Thomson Hall (Toronto).
